The life of Quetzalcoatl contains many amazing parallels to the life of Jose Arguelles/Valum Votan.
Ce Actl Topiltzin Quetzalcoatl, the plumed serpent, is also known as the Lord of the Morning Star. Planet Venus becomes the Morning Star for some 236 days, invisible for 90, Evening Star for another 250 days, invisible again for 8 days, only to reappear again as the Morning Star.
Quetzalcoatl was a prophet of ancient Mexico who renewed civilization with his advanced knowledge of mathematics, arts, astronomy and creation of a sacred calendar, that was later used by the Maya.

Jose Arguelles/Valum Votan brought through an entirely new system of galactic knowledge based on study of the underlying mathematics and prophecies of the Mayan calendar. He revived and promoted the 13 Moon/28-day calendar as a universal tool for harmonizing with synchronic time. Like Quetzalcoatl, he had the mission of renewing arts and culture as the chief factor of civilization expressed by the philosophy Time is art.

- Born a Mexican/American twin (Quetzalcoatl associated with sacred twin).
- Spent first five years in Mexico living at 48 Tula Street (Tula Street was named after the great city of the Toltecs, the capital of Quetzalcoatl’s cultural empire in the present state of Hidalgo. Tula is also known as Tollan, the mythic name of the original home of the Maya, somewhere among the stars).
- Age 14 taken to Teotihuacan where he has his first vision of his life mission atop Pyramid of the Sun. (Teotihuacan is the place of the primal Quetzalcoatl. The model for Tula was Teotihuacan).
- In graduate school became enamored with Quetzalcoatl after reading The Plumed Serpent (D.H. Lawrence) and Burning Water (Laurette Sojournne), and so embarked on a “Quetzalcoatl pilgrimage” from Mexico City to Teotihuacan to Xochicalo, birthplace of Quetzalcoatl (and where the image of Quetzalcoatl the plumed serpent is still present). The trip concluded in Acapulco where he contracted typhoid fever and had a near death experience where he was visited by the spirit of Quetzalcoatl and given visions.
- In 1969 he met Tony Shearer, author of Lord of the Dawn, story about Quetzalcoatl. From Shearer he learned about the prophecy of Quetzalcoatl, the thirteen heavens and nine hells.
- Wrote a Quetzalcoatl mystery play that he performed with his students at Evergreen state college in Olympia, Washington.
- Painted murals with Quetzalcoatl motifs at both University of California at Davis and Evergreen State College.
- In his 1975 book The Transformative Vision he writes extensively about Quetzalcoatl: “The prophecy of Quetzalcoatl’s return is universal, for it is the deliverance from the present hell.”

- Organized Harmonic Convergence, global peace meditation, 1987, to commemorate the fulfillment of the prophecy of Quetzalcoatl, 13 Heavens and Nine hells, opening the 26-year cycle to 2013. (Exactly 1,000 years earlier in 987, Quetzalcoatl arrived in Chitchen Itza, which had been abandoned since 692. This year, 692 was also the dedication date of the tomb of Pacal Votan in Palenque. Also the date July 26, 692–Julian July 16–is documented at Edzna, written in vigesimal system. This date corresponded with the rising of the star Sirius and is the starting point of the 13 Moon/28 Day calendar).
- Right before the Harmonic Convergence, there occurred a supernova, which he deemed “Quetzalcoatl supernova 1987A.” He attributed much of the downloading of galactic codes to this supernova.
- In Lord of the Dawn, Tony Shearer tells the following story: “When Quetzalcoatl was very young, he was a separated from his twin. After he left the city of Tula and began his wondering, he came to Oaxaca where he asked about his twin brother. They told him his brother was a poet, but was now dead. Hearing this, Quetzalcoatl was inspired to build a library of the dead for him. This is called the city of Mitla which means “land of the dead.” The library of the dead is half underground. When Jose told his twin brother Ivan, a poet and librarian, this story in the 1990s, he said, “Come and see where I work in the library.” The library building where his brother worked at the University of California at Berkeley is half underground.
- In 2002, ceremony honoring him as “Closer of the Cycle” at Teotihuacan began at the central and thirteenth platform of the Citadel of Quetzalcoatl.
- In 2003, author Daniel Pinchbeck interviewed Jose for three days for what was going to be an article in Rolling Stone magazine. The article never happened, but much of the material found its way into Daniel’s 2006 book: 2012: the Return of Quetzalcoatl.
- 2004: Venus Transit, kin 211. First part of the Quetzalcoatl return celebrated at Cybersphere Conference at Synergia Ranch, New Mexico with John Allen, creator of Bioosphere II Project. Noosphere II project born from here.
- In 2010, 791 days before 12-2012 he received a vision of the Galactic Spiral Density Wave, the return of Quetzalcoatl leading up to Yellow Galactic Seed–July 26, 2013.
Note, this is being written on Kin 249. TFI = 1353, with Kin equivalent 53 (1 Skywalker/1 Reed/sign of Quetzalcoatl).
In the synchronic order the weekly codon is 49: Revolution of Time “Revolution of Telepathy.” In the traditional I Ching codon 49 states:
“Thus the superior man sets the calendar in order and makes the seasons clear.”
In the Quran, verse 53:49 it states: “That He (Allah) is Lord of the Great Star Sirius.”
Sirius is the only star mentioned in the Quran.
In Manifesto for the Noosphere, Jose writes:
Pacal in his 52-year cycle of avataric power was in resonance with Sirius cycles; likewise the prophet Quetzalcoatl lived 52 years, AD 947-999. Both were embodiments of the Sirian knowledge on Earth.
Of course the 13 Moon calendar also runs on a program of 52-year solar galactic cycles and is correlated with the traditional date of the heliacal rising of Sirius, July 26.
